Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021

1. KnoBee Social India Pvt. Ltd. (KNOBEE) is a company registered under the Companies Act, 1956 and having its CIN U72200UP2021PTC149241 and corporate office at No. F-105, A-1, Sector 59, Noida. KnoBee operates KnoBee App (for iOS & Android), a social media platform for families and friends and the website www.knobee.app or www.knobee.in or www.knobeeindia.com

2. Significant Social Media Intermediary.

KNOBEE is a Significant Social Media Intermediary and has implemented policies and procedures to comply with the requirements of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (hereinafter the “Rules”).

3. Due Diligence

I. KNOBEE Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions of Use and Community Guidelines (collectively “KnoBee Policies”) are available on its website as well as within the KnoBee App. KNOBEE will inform users of any changes in the KnoBee Policies at least once in a calendar year.

II. In addition to other requirements prescribed by the Rules, KnoBee Policies specifically prohibit users from publishing content that is (a) invasive of another’s bodily privacy or harmful or harassing on the basis of gender especially children; or (b) is patently false or misleading but appearing as a fact; or (c) impersonates or deceives or is false with the intention of causing injury or wrongful loss or harassment wrongful gain or fraud; or (d) threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, or (e) violates any law. KnoBee will endeavour to deploy technology-based measures, including automated tools or other mechanisms to proactively identify content which falls within the above categories and others.

III. Orders by a court of competent jurisdiction or Appropriate Government or its agency or takedown or any other purposes should be addressed for compliance to the Resident Grievance Officer with a copy to Nodal Contact Officer and Chief Compliance Officer (contact details below).

IV. On receipt of a written request for information from a lawfully authorized government agency clearly stating the purpose for which it is required, KNOBEE shall provide such information or assistance in its control or possession to the government authority within 3 days.

V. In compliance with the Rules, registration information from a user and/or information which has been removed or to which access has been disabled, shall be retained by KNOBEE for a period of 6 month from the date of cancellation or withdrawal or removal or disablement.

4. Additional Due Diligence

I. The physical contact address of KNOBEE for the purposes of receiving communication addressed to it under the Rules is No. 750, Tower-B,I-thumb Business Park, Plot No. A-40, Sector 62, Noida, 201301, India.

II. KNOBEE has implemented the following mechanism for dealing with grievances:

- (a) Grievances relating to violation of the Rules must be addressed to the Resident Grievance Officer at grievance@knobee.app with a copy to the Chief Compliance Officer at care@knobee.app The complaint must contain such information as is necessary in order for KNOBEE to investigate and take action.

- (b) Reported grievances will be acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt along with a unique identification number. Grievances will be disposed of within 15 days from date of receipt. Wherever practical, information on action taken or not taken by KNOBEE may be provided to the reporter of the grievance.

- (c) Grievances by an individual relating to exposure of their private areas, full or partial nudity or depicting such individual in any sexual act or conduct; or impersonation in an electronic form, including artificially morphed images will be acted upon within 24 hours.

- (d) A monthly compliance report containing information as specified by the Rules will be published on the website under the link Compliance.

III. Users may opt for voluntary verification of accounts using an active phone number. All such requests may be sent to grievance@knobee.app or raised within the KnoBee App. A visual identifier will be shown against the profiles of users who have voluntarily verified themselves.

IV. Publishers (as defined under the Rules) of news and current affairs content should take note of the information statement in compliance with the Rules can be found under the link Compliance. On confirmation by such publishers of compliance with the Rules, KnoBee will display a visible verification mark against their profiles

V. KNOBEE also displays a visible verification mark on content that is advertising or sponsored or is exclusively controlled.

VI. KNOBEE has appointed Indian residents to ensure compliance with the Rules: Chief Compliance Officer for ensuring compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Rules

Compliance Statement for Publishers of News and Current Affairs Content

This Compliance Statement is with reference to Rule 5 of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (hereinafter "Rules") and applies to Publishers of News and Current Affairs Content (as defined under the Rules). Please note that according to the Rules, if you are a Publisher of News and Current Affairs Content, then in addition to the common terms of service for all users, you are required to furnish the details of user accounts on the services of intermediaries to the relevant ministry prescribed under Rule 18. If you have already done so please inform KnoBee by sending a mail to grievance@knobee.app and we will provide a demonstrable and visible mark of verification as being Publishers against your profile. USERS GUIDELINES FOR USING KNOBEE

Knobee helps its users connect to others, enabling meaningful engagement within the Knobee community. To ensure that this purpose is achieved effectively, Knobee requires users to follow these Community

Guidelines along with the Terms of Use the freedom of speech and expression as well as the right to privacy of users on its platform. In framing the Community Guidelines, ever. Knobee has the utmost regard for stipulation carefully balances these considerations with the requirement to respect and abide by the letter and spirit of the law of the land. Treat your interactions with other users on Knobee as though these are interactions in the real world. Before you post any content, think about how the people you are talking about might feel if you told them to their face what you are planning to post. Do not post content about others that you would not like posted about you. The community guidelines listed below set out the types of actions and behaviour that are prohibited on Knobee. If you are found to have committed any of the actions listed below appropriate action might be taken against you including, but not limited to, taking down the violative content, in the appropriate circumstances informing the authorities, and suspension or termination of your account:

1. Speech and Discrimination Contents

Knobee do not suggest users to post hateful or discriminatory content Knobee allow you to treat others on with dignity, respect, and a sense of empathy. We encourage valid and well-intentioned expressions of healthy disagreement on the platform. We do not allow any forms of hateful, personal attacks, ad hominem speech, or uncivil disagreement which are intended to harm another user or cause them mental stress or suffering. Examples of hateful or discriminatory speech include comments which encourage violence, racially or ethnically objectionable, or disparage anyone based on their national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disabilities, or diseases. We also prohibit content which could encourage other users to share such content.

You are not permitted to use hateful images or symbols in your profile image or profile header. You also may not alter your username, display name, or profile bio in such a manner as to appear as if you are engaging in abusive behaviour, or which could be reasonably construed as causing harassment to other user(s) or expressing hate towards a person or group.

2. Religiously Offensive Content

Respectful all religious faith and beliefs of others.

3. Terrorism and Violent Content

Do not post content that threatens, encourages or glorifies terrorism and violence, or encourages self harm. You must always be respectful of the religious faith and beliefs of others regardless of whether or not they share the same views or beliefs as you. You must not publish anything which is hurtful to the sentiments of others, or which insults their religion or customs and/or causes communal discord. Users do not allow threaten or promote any dangerous activities on Knobee. In particular you must not use Knobee to incite terrorism, secession, acts of violence against person or property or which threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign nations, or insults another nation.Users must not post any content that promotes or encourages users to take actions on behalf of a terrorist or anti-national organization, or recruits and disseminates information for, or furthers the objectives of, such organizations. You must also not garner support or approval for the commission of violent acts during lawful protests or create violence-inducing terror and conspiracy networks on the platform.

Knobee does not permit its users to post content which involves references to mass murder, violent events, or specific means of violence, in particular where vulnerable communities or groups are the primary targets or victims, or which depicts or glorifies any such actions. Knobee does not permit the glorification of violence in any manner including but not limited to celebrating events that have caused physical harm to or hurt the sentiments of any person or group. You must refrain from posting content which depicts torture, injury, mental suffering, death, bodily harm, abduction, kidnapping or other forms of violent content. You must also refrain from posting content relating to suicide or self harm, particularly in ways that can be construed as promoting or suggesting this course of action.

4. Invasion of Privacy

Be respectful of the privacy of other Users.

5. Illegal Activities

Don’t break the law when you use Knobee. Knobee expects users to be respectful towards the privacy of others. You must refrain from publishing sharing, or encouraging the publication of, any personal information of another personor which is invasive of their privacy. Do not post content which is illegal or which encourages other users to participate in any illegal activity. This includes buying or selling of narcotics, illegal or prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco products or any other categories of items that are not permitted to be traded between private individuals. You must also not use the platform to offer access to lotteries, gambling, and real money games or encourage money laundering, prostitution, human or child trafficking, organised violence or any other criminal activity. Do not post content that threatens public order, or incites other users to the commit an offence or prevents investigation of any offence.

6. Fake news and Misinformation

Be truthful and verify information. Do not knowingly post or share information, which is unverified or false or misleading, but may be perceived as factual. We have a zero-tolerance policy for morphed or manipulated media, including photoshopped pictures or doctored videos. We do not condone content which may affect citizen-centric processes. We also do not permit any content which may interfere with the results of political elections. You must, to the extent possible, make sure that the content that you post on Knobee is authentic and from a reliable and verifiable source.

7. Spamming, Scamming and Phishing

Don’t use Knobee to spam or scam others. Do not use this platform to manipulate others or to negatively affect their experience on the platform. Do not message other users in bulk from multiple accounts for the purpose of amplifying content or disrupting conversations. Do not use this platform to control prices or to publish information intended to manipulate other users for your own financial gain. Users are also prohibited from trying to deceive others whether on this platform or not, by sharing patently false and untrue information, luring other persons to share sensitive information or requiring them to engage in any other activities which with the intention of misleading or harassing users for financial gain or causing them any other harm.

9. Malicious Programmes and Data

Don’t share malicious programs and data. Do not post or share any content on the platform which contains any viruses, malicious programes, or any other computer code, file or program which could cause disruption, inconvenience, harm or loss to other users on the platform, or which is designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of the platform.

Keeping these principles in mind while undertaking any interactions of the platform (including posting content or sending messages to other people) would go long way in making the experience you and our larger community of users have on Knobee safer and more enjoyable.
